Welcome to St. Andrew Apostle School Pre‒Kindergarten 4 Year Old Program. This program is designed to promote the spiritual, intellectual, social, and emotional development of each child in a nurturing environment. Our teachers believe that each child is unique and special and deserving of love and attention.

Pre‒Kindergarten is an academic readiness program. Academic and social skills are woven into a curriculum that balances a child’s need for art, friendship, and play with his or her curiosity and desire to learn. Activities are age‒appropriate and multi‒sensory to facilitate both cooperation and independence. The curriculum follows the standards of Pre‒Kindergarten set forth by the Archdiocese of Washington.

Pre‒Kindergarten is a Monday through Friday program which starts at 8:00 am. The half‒day program ends at 11:30 AM. The full‒day program ends at 3:00 PM. The These hours coincide with the schedule of our students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade.

St. Andrew Apostle’s Pre‒Kindergarten Program follows the enrollment guidelines set forth by the State of Maryland and the Archdiocese of Washington. Students entering our program in the 2023-2024 academic year must be 4 years old by September 1, 2023. Placement in the Pre‒Kindergarten Program class is determined by a combination of birth date, intellectual development, social/emotional development and space, based on a Readiness Assessment Appointment in early February.
